Dear ENSEMBLES team
The next RT6 meeting will be held at the Met Office in Exeter, from Monday 6 June
to Wednesday 8 June. Please could you reply to me to confirm if you or others
from your work package will be attending.
As the Met Office are part of the UK Ministry of Defence, there are security procedures
that must be followed before visitors can be allowed into the building. The Met
Office security section requires at least one week's notice for visitors (but
see note below), and international visitors will need to present their passport
to Reception upon arrival. Certain countries are exempt from this procedure:
- Australia,
- Austria,
- Belgium,
- Bulgaria,
- Canada,
- Czech Republic,
- Denmark,
- Estonia,
- France,
- Germany,
- Greece,
- Hungary,
- Italy,
- Latvia,
- Lithuania,
- Luxembourg,
- Netherlands,
- New Zealand,
- Norway,
- Poland,
- Portugal,
- Romania,
- Slovakia,
- Slovenia,
- Spain,
- Sweden,
- Switzerland,
- Turkey,
- UK and
- USA.
Attached are two forms - one
for overseas visitors, and the other
for residents of the above countries and
the UK. For both of these forms, the relevant sections have already been completed
so that you will just need to complete your own details. Please can you send your
visit forms directly to Pip Gilbert - pip.gilbert at metoffice.gov.uk - by 19
May at the latest, to ensure that your clearance can be dealt with in good time.
Please also find attached an
outline programme (work package discussion
agendas will follow shortly) and some information about travel
and accommodation.
Very best regards,
Sarah
