Accommodation Information

Please note that participants are required to book their own accommodation. There are some rooms block-booked at each of the hotels listed below (please quote "ENSEMBLES" at the time of booking). The conference will be held at the Divani Palace Acropolis.

NB Due to multiple conferences taking place in Athens after the ENSEMBLES meeting the availability of rooms is limited. We are advised that there will be more rooms in hotels along the Athenian coastline (in seaside suburbs such as Voula, Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, Varkiza). These are the areas people should look for hotels if they wish to prolong their stay in Athens. See http://www.ase.net/servlet/SearchRegion?region=212001 for hotels in these areas.

Transport in Athens

There are four options for transportation to the city centre:

The cheapest option is the bus which costs €2.90 (http://www.aia.gr/EN/passenger_information/transportation&parking/by_bus/body.shtm). Take the bus to the city centre which terminates at Syndagma. Then change to the metro (line2) or walk to your hotel.
The suburban train (http://www.proastiakos.gr/en/index.asp). Cost is €6.00 for a single journey. From the airport, take the suburban train (called PROASTIAKOS in Greek) and get off at Athens mainline rail station (Athens RS, called Larissa station in Greek). From there, change to metro line 2 and get off at the appropriate station for your hotel (Acropolis station).
The metro line 3: 'Athens International Airport - Monastiraki' (http://www.ametro.gr/) Cost is €6.00 for a single journey. From airport take the metro line 3 and get off at Syndagma. From there you can either walk to your hotel or change to line 2 of the metro and get off at Acropolis station.
There are two metro stations (line 2) close to the Divani Acropolis hotel namely AKROPOLIS and SYNGROU-FIX (see http://www.divanis.gr/maps/acropolis_sm.htm. When travelling from the airport you need to get off at the Syntagma station to change to metro line 2 (Syntagma: connection of metro line 3 with line 2: 'Agios Antonios- Agios Dimitrios')
The taxi fare from the airport to the hotels costs approximately €25.00 depending on traffic.

The airport is 33km southeast of Athens city.
