Travel instructions

Getting to the Hotel:

From Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup) you can make your way to your hotel in several ways. The easiest is of course to take a taxi and give the name of the hotel to the driver. The trip by taxi will cost you something between 150 Danish and 250 crowns. About 750 Danish crowns equal 100 Euro. Denmark still does not use Euros, so get Danish money at the airport! Taxis take all major credit cards, just tell the driver at the start that you wish to pay with a card. Tips are already included in the fare.

Almost as easy and less expensive is going to the railway station close to your hotel, all the way from the airport. At the airport buy a suitable train ticket (see below).

Getting to DMI:

Take the S-train station Østerport to Ryparken (choose line H or H+ going towards Farum) which is a station 50m from the DMI. If approaching DMI from the city centre then exit the station on the left (DMI is the red brick building next to the station with the very tall antenna tower). At the DMI present yourself at the Reception where you will be issued with a pass.

DMI: Lyngbyvej 100, DK - 2100 Copenhagen Ø

Tickets:

In order to easily use the train from the airport, the S-train to DMI and around town, the Metro, and all buses in the capital area, we recommend getting tickets that give you 10 trips for about 100 crowns. These blue cards are inserted in the yellow clipping machine on busses and at all stations. You will need to make one clip (good for 1.5 hours) for simple trips inside Copenhagen. Going to and from the airport with this system will require 2 clips, for instance. Ask for a 'blue 10-trip card' at the station (they sell tickets at the airport). Tickets for individual trips can also be bought at most stations, and at the airport, and many newspaper agents, but only with correct change on buses.
